Schoolboy Q x Habits & Contradictions

A hip hop artist from my favorite label, Top Dawg ENT. (TDE), has just dropped his debut album; Schoolboy Q. Schoolboy Q is a California based rapper who has had past success with his last mixtape, Setbacks. If you're a fan of REAL hip hop and not all this "Stay Schemin'", "Take Care" type of mainstream, then Schoolboy Q and TDE are the people you need to look into. They are definitely bringing REAL hop back. My favorite songs off this album specifically are "Blessed", "There He Go", and "Sacrilegious". Nike Basketball 2012 Black History Month Pack.

Black History Month is in a few weeks so Nike is planning to pay homage and commemorate the special month by releasing a pack of it's signature shoes dedicated to the importance of the month. The pack includes colorways of the Kobe 7, KD 4, and Lebron 9. They will most likely be in "BRED " colorways but you never know what Nike has up their sleeves.

Nike Air Foamposite "Lebron James" (PE)

Not much is to be explained in this post. Air Foamposite wanted to give Lebron James some shine with their currently very successful Nike Air Foamposite line. These are custom player exclusives made specifically for the Miami Heat Forward, Lebron James. They are predominantly black with a White Dutch Lion (I think) on the back where the usual Half Cent Penny logo would be. Pretty sick colorway if you ask me.

Air Jordan 7 "Raptor" 2012 (First Images)

Some of the best, end of 2011, news I got was that the Raptor 7's were retroing in 2012. That has recently NOT became the case. My interests in these have drastically declined due to the news I find out a while ago. I heard a while ago that a second version of the DMP 7's (From the Raptor/Magic 7 Pack) were the 2012 retros. I, and a lot of others I suppose, thought the 2002 Raptors were releasing again .. but sadly sneaker fiends ... that is not the case. These are rumored to release some time in 2012 but a date is still pending ..

Nike SB "Shrimp" Dunk Low.

Nike Skateboarding is coming out with a new SB dunk. These are appropriately dubbed the "Shrimp" Dunks due to the phrase "Shrimp on the barbie". With that phrase being related to these sneakers, people believe that they're Australian inspired. The last pair of Australian inspired SB's were the "Melbourne/Gold Rail" Dunk lows (Which I personally did business with recently). These have a predominantly black leather upper with a red Nike swoosh. They also have a white midsole, silver sole, and an embroidered shrimp on the back heel counter. These will be quickstriking some time this year. 

Air Jordan 3 "South Beach" (Custom)

We've seen sneaker customs that were inspired by the Lebron 8 "South Beach" or "Pre-heats"; a few ideas were the Jordan Retro 6 and Jordan Retro 7 in the vibrant colorway .. but that was a long time ago. Apparently, the South Beach colorway is still making an impact. Sidney a.k.a. Mr. Exclusive from http://proofculture.com/ has come up with his own custom. He took, what I believe is a pair of Black Cement 3's, and threw some "South Beach" their way.

Air Jordan 6/7 "Olympic Pack"

This year is the 2012 Summer Olympics and are taking place in London, England. Jordan Brand is going to commemorate the event by creating and releasing an Air Jordan Retro Pack; They are deciding to go with a Retro 6 and Retro 7 for the pack. The 6 is coming with a white and cream upper with hints of gold around the while sneaker. The 7 will have a mostly black upper with hints of white and gold accents. The 7's look hot but the 6's are kind of iffy. Either way, the pack is a great idea. Look for a release some time in August.

Air Jordan 11 Low "White/Red"

This post will be good news for people still seeking 11's or people looking to pay less for kicks this year. A new release has surfaced in the form of a low top retro 11. These 11's are a little different than the 11's released since 2009. These consist of a low top figure while the past retros were high top. These lows also have an all white upper mixed with patent leather and mesh materials with a varsity red ice sole. I'm not a fan of low top kicks but these look hot nonetheless. Releasing on May 5th of 2012 for $140 retail.

Air Jordan 12 "Obisidan"

In addition to the Playoff 12's that will be released in April of this year, Jordan Brand will be releasing another retro 12; The Obsidians. Just like the Playoffs, it has a huge mix of white but with the Obisidians, it's a blue rather than black. A predominantly premium leather upper gives these a very sleek look. They are set to release in June of 2012 for $160.

Air Jordan 6 "Air Yeezy" (Custom)

Here comes another custom straight to the face ! Air Jordan retro 6's are very popular for customizations so this entry regarding a custom is no different. This entry involves Mike Nameus putting his own spin on the Jordan 6. He took the Air Jordan 6 and gave it little Tan Yeezy look. He took the base of the Jordan 6 "Oreo" to do the customization. This kick includes a tan upper base with a grey "Y" covered toe box. It also has a pink interior with a pink Jumpman on the heel counter; and the best feature on the shoe is the sole. Nameus took the icy sole and made it glow ... literally, glow in the dark. SO Fresh .

Ray Allen x Air Jordan 12 "MLK Day"

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day yesterday, Jordan Brand wanted to showcase a custom in MLK's honor. They used a Air Jordan retro 12 and gave it black and gold colors for the upper. And who better to rock them; Ray Allen during his home game versus the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Nike Air Foamposite "Galaxy" (Release Info.)

Earlier in my blog, I posted an entry regarding a VERY unique looking foamposites that was set to possibly release in 2012. It was more of a "tie-dye" colorway and was dubbed the "Galaxy" foamposite. Nike was unsure whether or not to release them to the public during 2012. But now, they have decided to release them in February. They are set to release sometime around NBA All-Star Weekend and be a quickstrike release. Looks like I'm going to be camping for them.

Nike Air Foamposite "NY Knicks" (Custom)

We got another custom but these customs are a little out of the ordinary seen on our blog. Usually we see Retro Jordans being redesigned into customs but this time around, we got some foams. This custom was designed by Jason Negron; It's not a huge amount of redesigning but it there is a significant change that connects to the dubbed custom name. Negron basically took the Royal Blue foamposite and turned the clear sole into an orange-tinted sole and then he turns the royal blue stripes on the tabs also to orange. And to top it off, he names the new foams the "New York Knicks". Genius.

Nike Air Foamposite "Golden State"

We have some good news and some bad news about the foamposites this year. I'm always a believer in good news so when it's split like this, I prefer to give the bad news first; Therefore, the bad news is that there will be a price hike this year from $200 to $220 for foamposites .. Good news is that there is another surfacing foamposite colorway. These are dubbed the "Golden State" foamposites are are surely neck breakers.

Nike Zoom Kobe VII "Nerf" (Custom)

Mache is back with another custom pair of kicks ! This time around, He's taken the Nike Zoom Kobe VII's and put a little older spin on them. These are what we call the Zoom Nerf Kobe's. Mache took the colorway of the Original Zoom KD Nerf's (Middle) and his custom Lebron 9 Nerf's (Right) and made a custom pair of Kobe 7 Nerf's (Left).  All of these came out really nice.

Nike Destroyer Jacket "Kobe All Black Edition"

With all the buzz regarding Kobe Bryant and his current divorce situation, Nike has decided to turn the attention of the media in a different direction. Nike is releasing a Varsity Jacket celebrating Kobe Bryant's basketball career. The signature embroidery marks on the front, back, and sleeves were specially made for him. This is the all black edition.

Air Jordan 6 "Porsche 911" (Custom)

This blog is full of different Air Jordan 6 customs. And just like those, these are another hot retro custom. These retros were customized by Chris Hui of C2 Customs. These are the Jordan 6 retros but with a new look; They are inspired by a sports car, The Porsche, and have a shiny red upper with an emblem on the back heel counter.

Nike Zoom Kobe VII "Big Bang"

Looks like we got another NBA All-Star Weekend exclusive. The Nike Lebron 9 came out with it's own and dubbing it the "Galaxy" and/or "Big Bang". Now it looks like The Nike Zoom Kobe 7 is coming out with it's own "Big Bang" as well. The colorway is a black and white upper along with a futuristic universe type pattern on the side panels; pretty dope design.

Nike Lebron 9 "Mango"

The year just started but The Nike Lebron 9 is bringing in the year right with some heat. These 9's feature a black, white, and silvery upper with a few hints of "mango" orange; a VERY good look. These are set to release March 2, 2012 and retail for $170.

Nike Lebron 9 "Summit Lake Hornets"

A new Lebron 9 colorway has been surfaced. Honestly, I'd never imagine seeing a Lebron 9 in with this color scheme. The whole sneaker is a purple, aqua blue, and white; New Orleans Hornets colors, hence the word "Hornet" in its name. No news of a release date as of yet but I'll be keeping tabs on this kick. Looks like Nike has stumped us again, very dope colorway.

Nike Foamposite One "Dark Grey" & "Obsidian"

It looks like 2012 is going to be a good year for Nike Foamposites. Along with the Metallic Red's that are set to release in February, we now have sights of some new upcoming foamposite releases. One of them has a dark grey/metallic silver touch to them with a hint of navy blue. (Very similar to the Pewter Foamposites). And the other release is a predominantly dark blue "obsidian" colorway with some hints of silver. Simple colorways but are huge eye candy.
