Nike KD Trey 5

With the new trio of signature Nike Basketball lines this year, there has been a lot of change to them in terms of form. The Lebron line has stayed consistently bulky from the 9 to the 10 just that the 10 is a tad bit more big, the Kobe line, with the 8 this year, has gone EVEN SLEEKER to give a more natural feel, deviating from the Kobe 6 and 7, and the KD 5 is like a whole 'nother shoe compared to the KD 4. A lot of people dislike the new KD 5 and it is causing Nike to reconsider the style of the shoe. Now we are proud to bring you the NEW KD 5 that will premiere in 2013, the KD "Trey" 5. The Trey 5 has the slimming tone of the 4 with the lightweight technologies of the 5. Release info. is still under wraps so stay tuned.

New Balance 990 30th Anniversary

New Balance is back in full affect boiiiiiiiiiiiii *Flava Flav voice*. But, I mean, it's not like they were ever gone. New Balance has established itself as one of, if not the, best athletic running brand in the world. This year, the brand has taken a lot of older running shoes, removed the running tech from them, and "retroed" them as a way to reach out to the youth. Jim Davis is smart because it worked like a charm. With the brand's popularity growing in lifestyle shoes, NB's demand for more retros is increasing. This Saturday is important because it marks the 30th anniversary of the brands most famous shoe, the 990. (Quick History Lesson) Since the model release in 1982, the 990 has been NB's best selling shoe. It was then remade into a performance running shoe but for this Saturday, it will take on it's original 1982 form. Only 990 pairs were made and very few places will be getting them. A few spots like NB New York, NB Boston, NB Santa Monica, and select others will be getting them. The Boston store will release them this saturday, and so far (being an employee of the store), we've been getting non-stop calls about them. Nike Zoom KD 5 "Christmas"

With December approaching this weekend, we can't help but to remember all the crazy past sneaker releases from the Holiday season. Nike usually goes all out with their shoes, in terms of color schemes, for the December lineup. We now have confirmation of a Christmas colorway for the new KD 5. It consists of a predominantly blue upper with various color patterns; a very flashy shoe to say the least. Stay tuned for official release info.

New Air Jordan Packaging for 2013 ???

As JB started to become more independent and successful, all aspects of their brand began to evolve. From campaign strategies to sneaker designs, Jordan Brand has established itself as a titan in the Athletic world. One thing that we love, as sneakerheads, were the boxes for the Retro Air Jordan line. They've undergone MANY changes over the past 15 years and now rumors have surfaced that they'll be changed again for 2013. What we do know is that the box for the Retro 1's set to release next year will, definitely, be different than the other releases. Check 'em out here.

Nike Zoom Kobe VIII "Christmas"

With the official unveiling of the Kobe 8 not too long ago, mixed feelings were shown regarding the new design of the sneaker. But now with a famous holiday that Nike is known to drop HOT FIRE colorways on, Christmas, sneaker enthusiasts are hoping for a revival of this seemingly dead basketball shoe. (We don't know what the problem is, we like them. Although, we kind of are Kobe Bryant biased). The Kobe 6 "Grinch" and Kobe 7 "Cheetah" are some of Kobe Bryant's most sought after sneakers, that just so happened to be Christmas colorway releases. Nike is trying to keep the same theme of colorful schemes over neutral colors for this Kobe 8. With a lime green outsole and black-pink speckled midsole, the upper is a scale-like pattern with various colors. Decently done, let us know what you think.

Fabolous x The Soul Tape 2

Loso is back again. After taking a small hiatus from music, he's back with a sequel to his past piece of music, Soul Tape with this tape (The Soul Tape 2). A lot of Fabolous fans were disappointed with his last tape, There Is No Competition 3, feeling like he strayed away from his lyricism and went for more of a poppy sound; which lead to mixed feelings regarding the anticipation of The Soul Tape 2. The first part of this tape was a fan favorite, and Soul Tape 2 is not far from it. With features like Pusha T, J. Cole, and Trey Songz, the tape is sort of like a mini album, which would make sense since Loso's Way 2 is set to drop soon. Overall, we'd give it a 7.5/10. Classic Fab.

Joe Budden x A Loose Quarter

Joe Budden, 1/4 of the lyrical group, Slaughterhouse, dropped a new mixtape a few days ago. (Our apologies for the late post). He has made a huge name for himself lately with his Mood Muzik tapes, his signing to Eminem's superpower group, and his infamous twitter posts (LOL). But after hearing this tape, it's overall, a great piece of music. With various producers, such as Cardiak and AraabMuzik, and features like Emanny and Ab-Soul, it's a balanced between hot beats and lyrical flow. Some tracks may seem redundant but the beats help you get through the whole thing. We here at OT give it an 8/10. Download link below.

Nike SB "Doernbecher" Dunk High

We have recently found confirmation that another sneaker was being added to the Doernbecher Freestyle Collection this year. Nike uses various brands/labels for their annual campaign but this year, Nike SB will be added to it. A high top Dunk was used and designed by a 10 year old named Finnigan Mooney. The Dunk consists of a yellow and navy upper with a heart and "thump thump" design. The heart design, as a whole, was chosen by Finnigan Mooney because he's been through 13 heart surgeries and is still ready to take on any challenge. These are set to drop on November 30th & will retail for $115.

Concepts x Nike SB "Porky's"

CNCPTS, being a very famous Boston-based sneaker shop, is teaming up with long time partner, Nike Skateboarding, for a new Dunk collaboration. Like a previous Nike SB Dunk, the Ms. Piggy's, these guys will be taking the same concept and giving it an updated look. No official release date has been set yet but expect these to be finished and dropped soon.

CNCPTS x New Balance 574 "Home vs. Away"

This weekend will be another chapter of Boston history. Harvard and Yale will square off in their 129th football meeting as the Battle of The Ivy League. In commemoration of this history face off, Concepts and New Balance have teamed up to make an Americanized version of the 574 as a pack. One will be red and black for Harvard, the other, Navy and Silver for Yale. They will retail for $135 each. The "Harvard" pair will be limited to 55 pairs while the "Yale" pair will be limited to 65 (due to the football record that Yale leads, 65-55). These will release in-store, at Concepts, on November 17th.

New Balance 996 "Color Pack"

New Balance has been having a stellar year with its Lifestyle collection. Hosting various collaborations with big name brands like Ball And Buck and Staple. Now NB is calming down a bit and going more simple rather than flashy. Grey is a constant color that's used in a majority of the lifestyle shoes but NB is switchin' it up a bit. NB is releasing a pack of 996's in a purple, blue, and green color way. Expect these in mid-2013.

Nike Air Force 180 "Phoenix"

From a previous post up here in OT, the Nike Air Force 180 was starting to make a comeback in a big way. Like the Ewing's, people love the AF 180 for its classic look and retro feel. The next to release is an AF 180 in a "Phoenix Suns" colorway. Here are some better and more updated photos. Expect these to drop on November 15th.

Frapbois has done some work with New Balance before. For those of you who haven't heard of Frapbois before, it's a Japanese-based clothing brand that specifies in women's clothing. They have teamed up with NB again and have taken a lifestyle boot, the 710, and gave it a makeover. With eccentric colors patterns, polka dots, and a candy-like finish, the 710 boot has never looked more ....... unique

Jordan Brand is known for the releases of their LEGENDARY 1-23 retros that cycle about every 5 to 7 years. But every year, JB tends to experiment with some of them. From hybrids to packages, JB never fails to think of something new for their marketing scheme. One thing that's been prevalent every year for Jordan Brand releases is that, along side the normal retros, there are retro pairs with unusual/non-original color schemes; some hot, some not, but either way, it's a spread of creativity. in 2013, this retro 3 will be sporting a well-known colorway but in an ...... inverse fashion ???

Size? x Staple x New Balance 577 "Black Pigeon"

Staple & New Balance are back at it again, along with Size?, to create a new collaboration shoe to rock the ages. Staple and New Balance have a previous "Pigeon" release in the form of a 575 model. This time, Staple, Size?, and NB will be taking NB's 577 model and using it for the base of their collaboration. The 577 will feature a predominantly leather upper with black and pink accents. These kicks are set to release on November 17th, 2012.

Nike Kobe 8 "Tour Yellow"

With the new Kobe 8 on the verge of being released, we're eagerly waiting to see what the final product will look like. And with the most recent photos, it looks like Nike is finally finished. The "Tour Yellow" leaves much to be desired. After us owning pairs of Kobe 6's and 7's, we figured the shoe couldn't get more narrower .... guess Nike proved us wrong. Also, the yellows on these don't coincide at all; (maybe that's the point of them differing???) Overall, Nike could've done a better job on these. As Kobe Bryant fans, we're disappointed here at OT.

Kanye West & G.O.O.D. Music x Cruel Winter

After the debut of G.O.O.D. Music's collaboration album, Cruel Summer, they established themselves as a powerhouse label in the industry. Under the work of Mr. West himself, they laid down NUMEROUS tracks, but only 12 made the CS album. We now have word that a sequel is being made called "Cruel Winter". Maybe it'll feature all the songs that didn't make CS ..... or something entirely different.
